Rams Finish Strong at Last Chance Meet


Randall's Island, N.Y. - The men's and women's outdoor track team finished the regular season in peak form at the Last Chance Meet on May 8 and 9, leading into the ECAC and National Championships. The team had a National provisional quallifier, two additional ECAC qualifiers, improved existing qualifying performances in three events and set 10 personal best at the two day meet.

Sophomore Qasim Ellis (Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale) placed fourth in the Triple Jump in a personal best 14.20m (46' 7 1/2"). This is a National provisional qualifying standard and improves on his ECAC qualifying standard. Qasim moves to #4 on the All-Time Triple Jump list.

Senior Naveed Mohammed (Central Islip, N.Y./Central Islip) qualified for the ECAC Championships in two events. Naveed ran 22.17 (22.22 trials) in the final of the 200m and Long Jumped 6.78m (22' 3") to get into the meet. Naveed moves to #10 on the All-Time 200m list.
