Pomona, N.J. - The men's team scored 66 points
to tie for 6th place out of 16 scoring teams at the Collegiate
Track Conference Championship at Richard Stockton College, in
Pomona, N.J. The women's team scored six points to tie for 13th
place out of 17 scoring teams.
The men's team won both the 4x100m and 4x400m Relays. They placed
4th in the 4x800m Relay, scoring 25 out of a possible 30 points in
the relays. Junior Jermaine Carter (Rego Park, N.Y./Mount St.
Michael Academy) ran on both winning relay teams and placed 3rd in
the 400m (50.88). Junior Naveed Mohammed (Central Islip,
N.Y./Central Islip) ran on the winning 4x100m Relay, placed 7th in
the long jump with a leap of 6.20m (20' 4 1/2") and 6th in the 100m
(11.28). Sophomore Qasim Ellis (Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale)
placed 3rd in the triple jump in an ECAC qualifying 13.76m (45' 1
3/4") and is now #7 on the FSC All-Time List. Ellis also placed 6th
in the long jump with a leap of 6.26m (20' 6 1/2")
Freshman James Owen (Riverhead, N.Y./Riverhead), competing in his
first decathlon, placed 8th with 4,972 points. During the 10 event
competition, Owen won the 1,500m in 4:41.71 and is now #6 on the
FSC All-Time List.
