Philadelphia, Penn. - The men's and women's teams performed well against strong Division I and II competition at the prestigious Penn Invitational, on Saturday, April 3rd. The team set two school records, had six new ECAC qualifiers, placed in events and set numerous personal bests.

Freshman Corine Magee (Mastic Beach, N.Y./William Floyd) broke the 200m school record running 25.41. Magee set the record last week at the Farmingdale Invitational, before breaking it this week. She has now set the indoor and outdoor 200m record six times. Corine placed sixth in the event, placed fourth in the 100m (12.49) and anchored the ECAC qualifying fifth place 4x100m relay (49.11). She currently ranks #3 and #4 respectively on the ECAC 100m and 200m list.

Junior Nick David (Mount Sinai, N.Y./Mount Sinai) set the pole vault school record and placed sixth in the event with a vault of 4.55m (14' 11"). David tied the previous school record last week at the Farmingdale Invitational.

The 4x400m relay of Steven Brown, Samar Hall, Greg Denis and Deshaun Thomas ran 3:19.75, to place fifth and qualify for the ECAC Championship. This was the fastest time in the last three years and ranks #2 on the ECAC Performance List

In the first two meets, 10 individuals and three relays have qualified for the ECAC Championship on May 14th-15th at Springfield College in Massachusetts. Farmingdale State next will travel to Rowan University for the Rowan University Open on Friday, April 9th.
