Herbst Qualifies for Two Events at Coach "O" Invitational

Kings Point, N.Y. - Sophomore Chris Herbst qualified for the ECAC Championships in both the 110m High Hurdles and the 400m Intermediate Hurdles at the men's and women's outdoor track Coach "O" Invitational hosted by the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy on Saturday, April 12th in Kings Point, N.Y. Chris placed 3rd in both events with times of 15.21 (110HH) and 56.51 (400IH). Chris is now qualified in three events and one relay at the ECAC's. He ran 22.45 in the 200m two weeks ago at Monmouth and ran on the qualifying 4x400m Relay (3:24.11).

The team is now qualified for the ECAC Championships in 9 individual events and 2 relays and Chris Okolie has qualified for the National Championships in the Discus.

110m High Hurdles: Earl Noel, 5th place, 15.73, ECAC Qualifier

Long Jump: Qasim Ellis, 2nd place, 6.45m (21' 2"), ECAC Qualifier

Triple Jump: Reggie Routier, 2nd place, 13.37m (43' 10 1/2")

Triple Jump: Reuben Hairston, 3rd place, 13.07m (42' 10")

Hammer Throw: David Casillas, 2nd place, 47.03m (154' 3")

Women

Triple Jump: Alexandra Smith, 3rd place, 9.98m (32' 9 1/2")

Long Jump: Alexandra Smith, 5th place, 4.67m (15' 3 3/4")

Hammer Throw: Gina Pierre, 6th place, 30.64m (100' 6"), Personal best

High Jump: Cathryn McLean, 4th place, 1.55m (5' 1")

4x100m Relay: Smith, Degnan, Miller, Awad, 5th place, 52.58

 

The Rams will compete next at the CTC Championships on April 19-20th at DeSales University in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
