FSC Competes at Fastrack Last Chance Meet

Staten Island, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's and women's indoor track teams competed at the Fastrack Last Chance Meet held at Ocean Breeze on Friday afternoon.

The women were led by junior Emily Russell (Southold, N.Y.) who recorded a pair of top-10 finishes. Russell finished seventh in the shot put with a throw of 9.64m (31' 7.5") and took eighth in the high jump with a leap of 1.46m (4' 9.5").

Freshman Alexxis McNeil (Valley Stream, N.Y.) posted a team-best time of 8.52 in the 60m preliminaries. In the 60m finals, freshman Wynter Wright (Yonkers, N.Y.) placed ninth with a time of 9.19. 

Sophomore Alycia Haynes (Adams Center, N.Y.) followed up her school record setting performance in the mile last week with a new personal best and school record time of 5:19.40 to finish in 14th.

For the men, freshman Steven Grannis (Farmingdale, N.Y.) recorded an eighth place finish in the weight throw with a toss of 12.39m (40' 7.75").

In the 60m, freshman Michel Seminara (Hauppauge, N.Y.) took 11th in 7.71, while sophomore Rodney Jerome (Westbury, N.Y.) was 12th in the 60m hurdle preliminaries in 9.26. Sophomore Joseph Stocken VI (Miller Place, N.Y.) came in 14th in the 60m hurdle preliminaries with a time of 9.34.

In the long jump, junior Chris Syrett (East Norwich, N.Y.) placed 14th with a leap of 6.07m (19' 11").

Junior Matthew Calogianes (Deer Park, N.Y.) set a personal best mark in the mile with a time 4:32.24.

The Rams next will head to Nazareth College in Pittsford, N.Y. for the All-Atlantic Region Championships on Friday, March 4th and Saturday, March 5th.
