FSC Competes at Fastrack Season Opener

Staten Island, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State indoor track teams kicked off the 2021-22 season at the Fastrack Season Opener on Friday at the Ocean Breeze Park Track & Field Complex in Staten Island, N.Y.  

The men were led by sophomore Morris Johnson (Binghamton, N.Y.) who recorded a runner-up finish out of 31 competitors in the 60m. His time of 7.26 ranks #9 on the FSC All-Time List. Also in the 60m, freshman Jovanny Philippe (Huntington, N.Y.) took 11th in 7.55.

In the 800m, sophomore Connor McKeever (North Babylon, N.Y.) placed 16th out of 32 with a time of 2:02.99.

Freshman Jadore Foote (Uniondale, N.Y.) finished tied for 16th (9.21) in the 60m hurdles, while sophomore Rodney Jerome (Westbury, N.Y.) (9.22) placed 18th in the same event.

In the long jump, junior Chris Syrett (East Norwich, N.Y.) took 14th out of 40 competitors with a leap of 19' 11".

For the women, freshman Mia Harris (Manhattan, N.Y.) finished 8th of 22 in the 60m with a time of 8.91. In the mile, sophomore Alycia Haynes (Adams Center, N.Y.) placed 12th in 5:44.02.

Junior Emily Russell (Southhold, N.Y.) recorded a third place finish in the high jump (1.55m / 5' 1") and took 15th in the shot put (9.93m / 32' 7").

Freshman Khadia Jenkins (Farmingdale, N.Y.) finished 10th in the high jump (1.50m / 4' 11") and 12th in the shot put (10.06m / 30' 0.25").

The Rams next will travel to the New Balance Track & Field Center at the Armory in New York, N.Y. for the TCNJ Lions Indoor Invitational on Saturday, January 15th.
