FSC Women Place Seventh; Men Finish Eighth at NJAC Championships

Staten Island, N.Y. - At the NJAC Championships held at the Ocean Breeze Park Track & Field Complex this afternoon, the Farmingdale State women's team finished in seventh place with 15.5 points, while the men took eighth with 42 points. This year's Indoor Track & Field Championships were hosted by Rutgers-Camden.

FSC junior Justin Percival (Melville, N.Y.) recorded a third place finish in the 60m with a time of 6.94. Percival took second in the 60m preliminaries (6.97) before taking third (.01 seconds behind the winner) in the finals. Percival also tallied a third place finish in the 200m (22.25) in a field of 27 competitors.

In the 400m, Farmingdale State senior Philip Sellitto (Levittown, N.Y.) earned a fourth place finish out of 11 in 50.91. Freshman Denzel Green Wright (Central Islip, N.Y.) crossed the finish line 0.11 seconds behind Sellitto to take fifth in the 400m.

The men's 4x200m relay team of Joseph Motis (Massapequa, N.Y.), Wright, Percival and Sellitto were the runner-ups out of eight teams after finishing in 1:29.50. Rowan's relay team earned the victory with a time of 1:27.69.

For the women, sophomore Marina Magoulas (Islip, N.Y.) led the way in the weight throw with a toss of 13.02m (42' 8.75") which earned her a sixth place finish.

TCNJ (246) were the NJAC women's champions, while Rowan (166 points) captured the team championship for the men.

The Rams next will head to the New Balance Track & Field Center in New York, N.Y. for the Armory Last Chance Qualifier on Friday, February 22nd.
