Percival Wins 60m at NYC DIII Invitational

New York, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State indoor track teams competed at the NYC DIII Invitational held at the New Balance Track & Field Center in New York, N.Y. on Friday.

Junior Justin Percival (Melville, N.Y.) led the Rams as he won the 60m in a meet-record time of 6.96. He also placed second out of 66 runners in the 60m preliminaries. In the 200m, Percival recorded a second place finish out of 85 in 22.17, while Philip Sellitto (Levittown, N.Y.) (23.05) and Denzel Green Wright (Central Islip, N.Y.) (23.21) took eighth and ninth, respectively, in the same event.

Sellitto placed eighth of 62 in the 400m (51.79), while junior Joseph McKeon (Hyde Park, N.Y.) tallied an 11th place finish in the 60m hurdles. The 4x400m relay team of junior Joseph Motis (Massapequa, N.Y.), freshman Dydro Prosper (Uniondale, N.Y.) Green Wright and Sellitto finished in 3:32.95 and recorded a sixth place finish out of 23.

In the pole vault, sophomore Eren Cabaci (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) took seventh and is now #9 on the FSC All-Time List with a mark of 4.11m (13' 5.75"). In the weight throw, FSC junior Markhus Obas' (Wheatley Heights, N.Y.) toss of 14.46m (47' 5.25") earned him an eight place finish out of 30 competitors.

For the women, sophomore Danielle Losquadro (Bethpage, N.Y.) moved to #6 all-time at FSC in the 60m with a time of 8.60, while junior Nazira Bah-Traore (Wheatley Heights, N.Y.) is now 10th on the list after finishing in 8.95.

In the 60m hurdles, freshman Amira Kemp (Copiague, N.Y.) finished 18th in 10.16 and improved her #4 time on the FSC All-Time List.

The distance medley relay team of junior Nicole Ferguson (Shirley, N.Y.), freshman Hayley Brigham (Southold, N.Y.), Losquadro and junior Erin Lettieri (West Islip, N.Y.) posted the second best time in school history as they finished in 13:45.89.

Sophomore Marina Magoulas (Islip, N.Y.) finished in sixth out of 29 in the weight throw with a distance of 12.89m (42' 3.5"). In the shot put, freshman Iyana Alexandre (Ridge, N.Y.) improved her #9 time on the FSC All-Time List with a toss of 9.67m (31' 8.75").

The Rams next will head back to the Ocean Breeze Park Track & Field Complex for the Fastrack National Invitational on Friday, February 8th.
