Percival Ranked #3 Nationally After Performance at "Bill Ward" Invitational

South Huntington, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's and women's indoor track teams competed at the St. John's "Bill Ward" Invitational at St. Anthony's High School on Sunday.

Junior Justin Percival (Melville, N.Y.) won the 60m in 6.92, which is currently the third best time in Division III this season. Percival, who fell .06 seconds shy of tying the school record, improved his #2 time on the FSC All-Time List.

Junior Blake Borghard (Northport, N.Y.) earned a victory in the 14-competitor field for the shot put with a toss of 11.38m (37' 4"), while freshman Chris Syrett (East Norwich, N.Y.) won the high jump with a leap of 1.80m (5' 10.75"). In the 60m hurdles, FSC's Joseph McKeon (Hyde Park, N.Y.) won the fourth event for the men as he finished in 9.30. McKeon's time of 9.21 in the preliminaries improves his #8 ranking on the FSC All-Time List.

In the weight throw, Farmingdale State's Thomas Franks (Coram, N.Y.) and Borghard finished in second and third place, respectively. Franks throw cleared 14.04m (46' 0.75") and Borghard tallied a distance of 13.38m (43' 10.75").

The 4x400m relay team of Philip Sellitto (Levittown, N.Y.), Joseph Motis (Massapequa, N.Y.), Percival and Denzel Green Wright (Central Islip, N.Y.) were the runner-ups with a time of 3:34.71. Sellitto also ran the 400m and took third out of 23 in 53.04.

For the women, freshman Amira Kemp (Copiague, N.Y.) finished second (#4 on FSC All-Time List) in the 60m hurdles in a time of 10.30. In the 800m, junior Nicole Ferguson (Shirley, N.Y.) placed fourth out of 31 runners in 2:32.31, while Samantha Pollucci (Bay Shore, N.Y.) was fifth in the 60m (8.25).

The 4x400m relay team of Nazira Bah-Traore (Wheatley Heights, N.Y.), Hayley Brigham (Southold, N.Y.), Danielle Losquadro (Bethpage, N.Y.) and Nicole Johnson (Bethpage, N.Y.) recorded a third place finish in 4:33.43.

Farmingdale State next will travel to the Ocean Breeze Park Track & Field Complex in Staten Island, N.Y. for the Wagner College Invitational on Friday, January 4th.
