Staten Island, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State indoor track teams competed at the Fastrack Season Opener on Saturday at the Ocean Breeze Park Track & Field Complex in Staten Island, N.Y.
The men were led by junior Justin Percival (Melville, N.Y.) who earned a runner-up finish out of 37 competitors in the 60m with a time of 7.05. His performance in the 60m ranks second on the FSC All-Time List.
Junior Thomas Franks (Coram, N.Y.) opened the season by taking second out of 21 in the weight throw with a personal best toss of 45' 6.25" (13.87m), while junior Blake Borghard (Northport, N.Y.) placed fourth with a distance of 40' 5.5" (12.33m). Sophomore Stephen Honoré (Uniondale, N.Y.) recorded a sixth place finish (41' 8") in the triple jump and freshman Chris Syrett (East Norwich, N.Y.) took eighth (40' 4.25").
In the 1000m, Farmingdale State's Clint Thompson (East Hampton, N.Y.) (3:00.03), Paul Jennings (Lowville, N.Y.) (3:10.35) and Chris Malfa (Merrick, N.Y.) (3:24.68) placed sixth through eighth, respectively.
For the women, sophomore Kristina Gallo (West Islip, N.Y.) finished in sixth and is now ninth on the FSC All-Time List in the high jump with a leap of 4' 7" (1.40m). Sophomore Marina Magoulas (Islip, N.Y.) moved to #3 on the FSC All-Time List after placing seventh in the weight throw with a toss of 38' 11" (11.86m).
In the 3000m, junior Erin Lettieri's (West Islip, N.Y.) time of 11:06.23 earned her a ninth place finish in the event.
Farmingdale State next will travel to St. Anthony's High School in South Huntington, N.Y. for the St. John's "Bill Ward" Invitational on Sunday, December 9th.
