Rams Compete at NYC Gotham Cup

Staten Island, N.Y. - The men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed on Friday, January 19th in the NYC Gotham Cup at the Ocean Breeze Track & Field Center.

The men were led by senior Jyaire Ewa (Rochdale, N.Y.) who earned a runner-up finish in the Weight Throw with a toss of 17.57m (57' 7.75"), while senior Nicolas Fratto (Farmingdale, N.Y.) and sophomore James O'Brien (South Jamaica, N.Y.) each placed sixth in the 200m and 5000m (16:08.69), respectively. Fratto's time of 22.04 tied his career best and was the top Division III performance in the 200m. O'Brien ran the 6th best time in Farmingdale State College history in his event.

In the 60m Hurdles, senior Idowu Bamisile (Brooklyn, N.Y.) recorded a 10th place finish in 8.71 seconds, while junior Philip Sellitto's (Levittown, N.Y.) time of 50.60 in the 400m earned him a 17th place finish.

For the women, senior Megan Eiseman (Seaford, N.Y.) improved her #2 time in the FSC record books for the 1000m with a time of 3:20.74. In the 800m, sophomore Nicole Ferguson's (Shirley, N.Y.) time of 2:30.67 puts her at #9 on the FSC All-Time list, while freshman Danielle Losquadro (Bethpage, N.Y.) is now 7th All-Time in the 60m (8.81).

The team will return to the Ocean Breeze Track & Field Center on Friday, February 9th for the Fastrack National Invitational.
