
Staten Island, N.Y. - Seniors Jyaire Ewa (Rochdale, N.Y.) and Nicolas Fratto (Farmingdale, N.Y.) shined amongst DI and DII competition at Saturday's 2018 Great Dane Classic hosted by the University of Albany at the Ocean Breeze Track & Field Center in Staten Island.
Ewa won his third straight event in the Weight Throw, with a toss of 17.98m (59'). He is undefeated this season in the event and currently ranks 4th in the Nation for his mark on December 7th of 59' 5.25".
Fratto placed 7th in the 200m, sprinting a career best 22.04 to improve his #3 mark All-Time at Farmingdale State. He had the fastest mark of Division III runners at the meet. This mark moves him to 8th in the Nation.
On the women's side, sophomore Erin Lettieri (West Islip, N.Y.) ran the 3000m in 10:42.23, posting a 28th place finish as the top DIII runner in her event. She also ran on the women's 4x800m Relay with teammates Megan Eiseman, Nicole Franz, and Nicole Ferguson with a 4th place finish in 10:52.15. This time moves them to #7 All-Time at FSC.
