
Staten Island, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's and women's indoor track and field team opened the season at the Fastrack Metro Season Opener on Friday, December 1st at the Ocean Breeze Track and Field Complex. The Rams had six ECAC qualifying performances and won four events at the meet.
The men's team won three events, including the 200m, 60m Hurdles and the Weight Throw. Senior Nicolas Fratto (Farmingdale, N.Y.) won the 200m in an ECAC qualifying time of 22.15, improving his #3 All-Time mark. Senior Jyaire Ewa (Rochdale, N.Y.) won the Weight Throw with a toss of 17.87m (58' 7.5"). Both of these times currently lead the NJAC and Atlantic Region. Senior Idowu Bamisile (Brooklyn, N.Y.) posted an ECAC qualifying time of 8.47 to win the 60m Hurdles. On the women's side, sophomore Erin Lettieri (West Islip, N.Y.) won the 3000m in a time of 11:19.68.
Junior Chad George (Levittown, N.Y.) posted three ECAC qualifying times at the meet, including a 7.08 in the 60m to place him in 4th and move him to #2 All-Time at FSC. He also finished 5th in the 200m at 22.83, and ran on the 2nd place 4x400m Relay with Bamisile, senior Nikola Georgiev (Kings Park, N.Y.) and junior Philip Sellitto (Levittown, N.Y.).
Sellitto also finished 13th in the 500m with an ECAC qualifying time of 1:08.60.

The team will now compete at the St. John's "Bill Ward" Invitational on Thursday, December 7th at St. Anthony's High School in South Huntington, N.Y.
