Skyline Releases Winter Weekly Report #8

New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Winter weekly report #8 on Monday, January 16th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's basketball.

Men's Basketball Update (9-5, 5-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The men's basketball team used a pair of Skyline wins last week over both St. Joseph's-LI (73-71) and Sage (78-69) to improve to a perfect 5-0 in conference play. The Rams sit atop the South Division - currently one game ahead of Yeshiva (4-1).

This week FSC will play two Skyline road games: Tuesday at Mount Saint Mary @ 8:00 p.m. and Saturday at Sarah Lawrence @ 1:00 p.m.

Women's Basketball Update (7-6, 6-2 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams played four games last week and posted a 2-2 record. FSC closed the week with back-to-back wins over St. Joe's-Bklyn (80-70) and Purchase (82-36).

Junior guard Tyra Harrison (Baldwin, N.Y.) was named to the Player of the Week Honor Roll after averaging a team-high 15.3 points per game. She recorded 13 assists, shot 43% from the field and 46% from 3-point range.

The women's basketball team will play two home games this week: Tuesday vs. Mount Saint Vincent @ 6:00 p.m. and Thursday vs. Baruch @ noon.

Indoor Track & Field Update

The men's and women's indoor track teams traveled to the New Balance Track & Field Center in New York, N.Y. for the Ramapo College Season Opener last week.

Senior Bryan Giordano* (Centereach, N.Y.) placed fourth in the pole vault and qualified for the ECAC's with a career-best mark of 4.40m (14' 5.25"). The women were led by sophomore Tunisia Solomon's (Amityville, N.Y.) ninth place finish in the triple jump - 10.27m (33' 8.5").

Farmingdale State will now head to the Ocean Breeze Park Track & Field Complex in Staten Island, N.Y. on Friday for the NYC Gotham Cup.
