Skyline Releases Winter Weekly Report #7

New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Winter weekly report #7 on Monday, January 9th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's basketball.

Men's Basketball Update (7-5, 3-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams were 2-0 in a pair of games last week after defeating Westfield State (76-70) and Skyline rival Old Westbury (57-56).

Sophomore forward George Riefenstahl (Bayport, N.Y.) was named to the Player of the Week Honor Roll. Riefenstahl scored seven points, had six boards and two blocks in the win at Westfield State and followed with a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds in the victory over Old Westbury.

This week the men's basketball team will play two conference games: Wednesday at St. Joseph's-LI @ 7:00 p.m. and Saturday vs. Sage @ 2:00 p.m.

Women's Basketball Update (5-5, 4-2 Skyline) - Full Report

The women's basketball team went 1-1 last week with a victory over Sage (64-49) and a loss at Mount Saint Mary (51-41).

Sophomore forward AJ Smith (Freeport, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll after averaging a team-leading 16.5 points and 8.0 rebounds per game.

FSC will play three games this week: Tuesday vs. #2 Amherst @ 4:00 p.m., Wednesday vs. St. Joseph's-Brooklyn @ 6:00 p.m. and Saturday at Purchase @ 2:00 p.m.

Indoor Track & Field Update

The men's and women's indoor track & field teams competed at the Wagner Invite and posted two ECAC qualifying performances. Sophomore Christopher Pensa (Levittown, N.Y.) placed fifth in the weight throw, while freshman Erin Lettieri (West Islip, N.Y.) took 20th in the 3000m.

This week Farmingdale State will head to the New Balance Track and Field Center in New York, N.Y. for the Ramapo College Invitational on Friday.
