Grinnell, Iowa - At the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships held at Grinnell College's Bear Athletic Center, Farmingdale State sophomore Jyaire Ewa (North Massapequa, N.Y.) placed 14th in the weight throw.
Ewa qualified for the event with a toss of 17.94m (58' 10 1/4") which he accomplished at the Fastrack Last Chance Meet at the Ocean Breeze Park Track & Field Complex.
At the NCAA's, Ewa recorded a throw of 16.77m to earn 14th place.
Luis Rivera of Nazareth, won the National Championship in the weight throw with a toss of 20.45m, while Baldwin Wallace's Tyler Burdorff (19.08m) was the runner-up.
Ewa will look to continue his success during the upcoming outdoor track & field season. Farmingdale State opens the year at the Ramapo College Roadrunner Invitational on Friday, April 1st.
