Ewa Named All-Atlantic Region

New Orleans, La. - The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the All-Region honorees for the 2015-16 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field season. To be named All-Region, an athlete must either be ranked in the top-5 of an individual event in the region according to final TFRRS data or be part of a top-3 relay team.

Farmingdale State sophomore Jyaire Ewa (North Massapequa, N.Y.) was named All-Atlantic Region in the weight throw. Ewa, who is headed to the NCAA Division III National Championships this weekend, posted his career-best toss in the weight throw (17.94m / 58' 10 1/4") at the Fastrack Last Chance Meet on February 27th.

In the second meet of the season at the Bill Ward Invite, Ewa won the weight throw with a distance of 16.10m (52' 10"). On January 30th at the Ramapo Indoor Select Meet, Ewa again captured the weight throw with a toss of 17.66m (57' 11 1/4"). In the next meet (Molloy Invitational), Ewa finished atop the field of 30 in the event and recorded his last victory of the season at the NJAC Championships, which earned him First Team All-Conference honors.
