- Ewa named NJAC Field Athlete of the Week -


New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Winter weekly report #14 on Monday, February 29th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's basketball. The New Jersey Athletic Conference released the Track Athlete, Field Athlete and Rookie of the Week selections for men's and women's indoor track.

Indoor Track Update    Men's Report    Women's Report

The indoor track teams competed at the Fastrack Last Chance Meet at the Ocean Breeze Park Track & Field Complex in Staten Island, N.Y. last week.

Sophomore Jyaire Ewa (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) was named NJAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week. Ewa placed third in the weight throw with a personal best toss of 17.94m (58' 10 1/4"). His mark has him ranked 10th in Division III for the weight throw with the top-17 at the end of the season advancing to the NCAA Championships at Grinnell College in Iowa.

Senior Jovanni Parkinson (Wyandanch, N.Y.) set the school record in the 200m with a time of 21.93.

Men's Basketball Update (14-12)

Farmingdale State entered the playoffs as the #3 seed and fell, 78-75, to sixth-seeded St. Joseph's-Brooklyn in the First Round.

The Rams qualified for ECAC Championship and will travel to Baruch for the Quarterfinals on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

Women's Basketball Update (9-17)

The fifth-seeded women's basketball team traveled to #4 Mount Saint Mary for the First Round of the playoffs and were defeated, 71-52.
