Indoor Track Competes at Molloy Invitational

Melville, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's and women's indoor track teams competed at the Molloy Invitational held at St. Anthony's in Melville, N.Y. on Friday afternoon.

The men were led by sophomore Jyaire Ewa (North Massapequa, N.Y.) who finished in first place out of 30 competitors in the weight throw with a toss of 17.60m (57' 9"). Ewa also tallied an 11th place finish in the shot put (13.12m / 43' 1/2").

In the 200m, senior Jovanni Parkinson (Wyandanch, N.Y.) recorded a third place finish in an ECAC qualifying time of 22.69, while junior Bryan Giordano* (Brooklyn, N.Y.) took third in the pole vault with a season-best 4.12m (13' 6 1/4")

For the women, junior Maia Cadle-Hinton's (Huntington, N.Y.) toss of 14.48m (47' 6 1/4") earned her third place out of 20 competitors in the weight throw. Freshman Amanda Butler (Farmingdale, N.Y.) placed fifth in the pole vault (2.59m / 8' 6") and moved to third on the FSC All-Time List.

The indoor track teams next will compete at the NJAC Championships at the Ocean Breeze Park Track & Field Complex in Staten Island, N.Y. on Monday, February 22nd.
