Rams Excel at Wagner Invitational


Staten Island, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's and women's indoor track teams competed at the Wagner College Invitational on Friday, December 11th at the Ocean Breeze Park Track & field Complex in Staten Island, N.Y.

Sophomore Idowu Bamisile (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led the men with his first place finish in the 60m hurdles in a school record time of 8.49. Freshman Tunisia Solomon (Amityville, N.Y.) leaped 10.42 in the triple jump, placing her third for the NJAC as well as improving her seventh place time on the FSC All-Time List.

The Farmingdale State men's sprinters performed well as senior James D'onofrio (West Babylon, N.Y.) ran 7.15 in the 60m to place fourth. Senior Jovanni Parkinson (Wyandanch, N.Y.) was the runner-up in the 400m with a personal best time of 50.24, while freshman Philip Sellitto (Levittown, N.Y.) placed second in the 200m in 22.83.

Sophomore Nicole Franz (Melville, NY) ran the mile in 5:46, improving her time on the FSC All-Time List and sophomore Jyaire Ewa (North Massapequa, N.Y.) came in third place with a toss of 15.37 in the weight throw.

The 4x400m relay team (Nikola Georgiev, Bamisile, Sellitto & Parkinson) had an excellent race running an ECAC qualifying time of 3:24.42.

The indoor track teams next will compete at the St. Joseph's Invitational at St. Anthony's on January 16th.
