Rams Win Three Events at Bill Ward Invite

Huntington, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State indoor track team competed at the Bill Ward Invitational on Tuesday night at St. Anthony's High School. The Rams had three 1st place and two 2nd place finishes at the meet.

On the men's side, sophomore Jyaire Ewa (North Massapequa, N.Y.) won both of his events, throwing the Shot Put 12.88m (42' 3 1/4") and posting a 16.10m mark in the Weight Throw (52' 10"). Senior Jovanni Parkinson (Wyandanch, N.Y.) won the 400m in a time of 51.11 and also finished 2nd in the 200m at 23.04.

Junior Maia Cadle-Hinton (Huntington, N.Y.) finished in 4th place in the Weight Throw (43' 3", 13.18m), while sophomore Nikola Georgiev (Kings Park, N.Y.) took 5th place in the Long Jump with a distance of 6.10m (20' 1/4").

For the freshmen, Robert Lang (Mineola, N.Y.) placed 5th in the 800m (2:09.31), Amanda Butler (Farmingdale, N.Y.) took 2nd in the Pole Vault, clearing 7' 6 1/2" (2.30m) and moving onto the All-Time list at #4. Tunisia Solomon (Amityville, N.Y.) grabbed 5th place in the Triple Jump at 33' 10 1/4" (10.32m).
