New York, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State indoor track teams competed at the NJAC Championships on Thursday and the men finished in sixth place, while the women recorded a seventh place finish out of nine teams.
Junior Jovanni Parkinson (Wyandanch, N.Y.) won the 200m in 22.23 and placed second in the 400m with a time of 49.44. He now moves into #2 on the FSC All-Time List for the 200m and into fourth for the 400m. Parkinson also anchored the fifth place 2x200m relay (21.72) and the eighth place 4x400m relay (50.43). Parkinson accounted for 23 of the Rams 37 total points in the championship.
Freshman Jyaire Ewa (North Massapequa, N.Y.) captured the title in the 35lb. weight throw with a toss on 15.70m (51' 6 1/4"). This mark ties his personal best which was set earlier this season. Ewa is currently the #2 ranked freshman thrower in Division III.
Sophomore Maia Cadle-Hinton (Huntington, N.Y.) won the 20lb. weight throw with a distance of 15.17m (49' 9 1/4"). She currently holds the school record with a toss of 15.60m (51' 2 1/4")
