Rams Place in 13 Events at Manhattan College Invitational

Bronx, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's and women's indoor track teams competed at the Manhattan College "Brother Jasper" Invitational on Saturday and placed in 13 different events.

The men were led by sophomore Jacob Kashani (Roslyn, N.Y.) who placed third in the 1 mile in 4:58.75, while freshman Konrad Rogowski (Massapequa, N.Y.) took fifth in 5:08.61.

In the 60m high hurdles, senior Jonathan Gortman (Dix Hills, N.Y.) recorded a fifth place finish in 9.04. Junior Jovanni Parkinson (Wyandanch, N.Y.) led Farmingdale State in the 200m as he took fifth in 23.02 and sophomore Karl Nilsen (Smithtown, N.Y.) finished fifth in the pole vault (3.90m / 12' 9 1/2").

The women were led by freshman Nicole Franz's (Melville, N.Y.) personal best time and seventh place finish in the 1 mile (6:10.65). Finishing one spot behind Franz, was freshman Megan Eiseman (Seaford, N.Y.) in 6:19.39.

Junior Erin Donovan (Farmingdale, N.Y.) recorded a sixth place finish in the long jump with a leap of 4.59m (15' 3/4") and sophomore Maia Cadle-Hinton (Huntington, N.Y.) was fifth in the 20lb. weight throw with a toss of 12.55m (41' 2 1/4").

The Rams next will travel to the New Balance Track and Field Center for the NYU Gotham Cup on Friday, January 16th, 2015.
