Men's Indoor Track and Field

2013-14 Indoor Track Season Recap


Farmingdale, N.Y. - The men's team finished in eighth place, while the women were ninth at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships held at the New Balance Track and Field Center in New York, N.Y.

At the NJAC Championships, senior Alix Lamarre (North Bellmore, N.Y.) placed third in the long jump and senior Daquan Grant (Copiague, N.Y.) took third in the triple jump. Lamarre and Grant were each named All-Conference Honorable Mention for their efforts. The women were led by the relay team of Carina Bonilla (Massapequa Park, N.Y.), Kazia Garvey (Elmsford, N.Y.), Penelope Cruz Perez (Santo Domingo, DR) and Ellen Kim (Queens, N.Y.) who finished in sixth place in the distance medley relay.

At the season opening St. John's Invitational, Grant captured the triple jump and sophomore Jordan Kohlman (Wantagh, N.Y.) won the pole vault. Sophomore Erin Donovan (Farmingdale, N.Y.) was fourth in the pole vault and sixth in the 20-lb. weight throw.

Freshmen Stephen Schmidt (Levittown, N.Y.) and Maia Cadle-Hinton (Huntington, N.Y.) each set personal bests at the NYU Team Challenge. Schmidt set the mark in the shot put and 35-lb. weight throw, while Cadle-Hinton's shot put moved her to #2 all-time at FSC.

The men's team placed eighth at the Collegiate Track Conference Championships as Lamarre captured the long jump. Lamarre also excelled at the ECAC Championships as he tallied a third place finish in the long jump with a season-best leap.
