Rams Pole Vaulters Excel at Molloy Invite

Melville, N.Y. - At the 30 team Molloy Lions Invitational, held at St. Anthony's High School on Friday, February 14th, the Farmingdale State Pole Vaulters dominated the competition placing 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the event.
Freshman Karl Nilsen (Smithtown, N.Y.) took first place with a vault of 4.27m (14'). Placing second was sophomore Jordan Kohlman (Wantagh, N.Y.) with a jump of 3.81m (12' 6") and in third place was freshman Bryan Giordano (Brooklyn, N.Y.) with a 3.54m (11' 7 1/4") jump.

Sophomore Erin Donovan (Farmingdale, N.Y.) placed 6th in the women's Pole Vault with a personal best 2.44m (8') vault. Erin moves to #3 on the FSC all-time pole vault performance list. Erin also placed 6th in the high jump, tying her personal best of 1.47m (4' 9 3/4").

Freshman throwers Maia Cadle-Hinton (Huntington, N.Y.) and Stephen Schmidt (Levittown, N.Y.) once again set personal bests in their two events, the shot put and weight throw. Maia threw the shot 10.88m (35' 8 1/2") and moves to #6 on the All-Time list. Her 20 Lb. Weight Throw of 13.30m (43' 7 3/4") placed her 5th in the event and improved her all-time list performance. Stephen threw the shot 12.80m (42') and his 35 Lb. Weight Throw of 10.92m (35' 10 1/4") improves his all-time list ranking.

Men's 60M dash - James D'onofrio, 7.15, new personal best and improves his all-time best performance

Men's Long Jump - Alix Lamarre, 6.64m (21' 9 1/2"), 2nd place

Men's Triple Jump - Daquan Grant, 13.51m (44' 4"), 3rd place; Alix Lamarre, 12.91m (42' 4 1/2"), 7th place; Raleigh Axmacher, 12.50m (41' 3/4"), new personal best

Men's High Jump - Steven Renteria, 1.88m (6' 2"), 3rd place

Women's 4X800m Relay - Carina Bonilla, Ellen Kim, Penelope Cruz Perez, Kazia Garvey, 12:25.28, 4th place, #8 on All-Time list

 

Next up for the Rams is the NJAC Championships on Saturday, March 1st at the Armory (New Balance Track & Field Center) in New York, N.Y.
