Grant Headlines Rams at Ramapo's Indoor Select Meet

Ramapo Select - New Balance Track and Field Center


New York, N.Y. - Senior captain Daquan Grant (Copiague, N.Y.) placed 4th in the Triple Jump to headline the Farmingdale State men's and women's indoor track teams at the Ramapo College Indoor Select meet on Saturday, January 19th.

Grant's jump, an ECAC qualifying jump of 13.93 meters, is currently ranked #7 and #11 respectively on the ECAC and NCAA national performance lists. The jump is also an indoor personal best for him and ranks him 10th on the All-Time Farmingdale State performance list. Five of Daquan's six jumps were ECAC qualifying jumps.

In other notable finishes, sophomore James D'onofrio (West Babylon, N.Y.) ran 7.24 in the trials and 7.20 in the final of the 60m dash to place 9th in the event. Both marks were personal bests and he is now in sole possession of 3rd place on the All-Time list.

Freshman Karl Nilsen (Smithtown, N.Y.) tied for 3rd place in the Pole Vault with a jump of 4.25m ( 13' 11 1/4"). Karl is now #10 on the All-Time list.

For the second meet in a row, freshman Stephen Schmidt (Levittown, N.Y.) set a personal best in the 35-lb Weight Throw with a toss of 10.70m ( 35'1 1/4 " ). this places Steve # 10 on the all time list.

In her first 20-lb Weight Throw competition, freshman Maia Cadle-Hinton (Huntington, N.Y.) moved into 3rd place on the All-Time list with a throw of 10.44m (34' 3").

Farmingdale State will head back to the New Balance Track & Field Center this week for the NYU Team Challenge on Friday, January 24th.
