Indoor Track wins 2 Events at St. John's Invite

Melville, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's and women's indoor track team opened the 2013-14 season at the Bill Ward/St. John's Invtational held at St. Anthony's High School in Melville, N.Y. on Friday, December 6th.

The men's team won two events at the meet, including the Triple Jump and Pole Vault. Senior captain Daquan Grant (Copiague, N.Y.) won the Triple Jump with a distance of 13.49m (44' 3 1/4"). Sophomore Jordan Kohlman (Wantagh, N.Y.) won the Pole Vault as he cleared 12'.

Daquan led a cadre of Farmingdale triple jumpers, as four jumpers total passed the 40' mark.

Other notable performances:

Sophomore Erin Donovan (Farmingdale, N.Y.) placed 6th in the 20-lb Weight Throw with a toss of 11.02m (36' 1"), moving her to #2 on the All-Time list. She also placed 4th in the Pole Vault with a 7' jump, placing her at #5 on FSC's All-Time list.

Freshman Maia Cadle-Hinton (Huntington, N.Y.) placed 6th in the Shot Put with a throw of 10.69m (35' 1"), giving her a spot at #8 on the All-Time list.

This was the Rams' only meet in 2013, they will continue the season in 2014 as they meet at NYU Gotham Cup on Friday, January 10th at the New Balance Track & Field Center ("The Armory") in New York, N.Y.
