2012-13 Indoor Track Season Recap

- Jang and Lamarre highlight track teams -


Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's and women's indoor track team saw two NJAC Championships this season, along with many great performances along the way.

Senior Mike Jang (Lynbrook, N.Y.) moved to #2 all-time in the weight throw and #4 all-time in the shot put, while junior Joseph Verderber (Riverhead, N.Y.) improved his mark at #3 all-time in the pole vault.

At the Wesleyan Invite, the men won five events, including the 4x200m relay, pole vault, long jump, shot put and weight throw and had 16 top-5 finishes at the meet.

At the NJAC Championships, Jang won the weight throw and placed 3rd in the shot put, while junior Alix Lamarre (North Bellmore, N.Y.) won the long jump and placed 4th in the triple jump. For the women, senior Victoria Mandat (West Babylon, N.Y.) placed 5th in the 60m hurdles. Senior Faustine Chukwuezi (Central Islip, N.Y.) placed 8th in the long jump and sophomore Druscilla Dickson (Copiague, N.Y.) placed 8th in the triple jump.

This season the Rams had two ECAC qualifiers, as Lamarre and Grant competed in the long jump and triple jump, respectively.
