Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State indoor track team competed in the NYC Gotham Cup at the Armory Track & Field Center in New York, N.Y. on Friday, January 11th.

For the men, Rams senior Mike Jang (Lynbrook, N.Y.) posted two ECAC qualifying marks. He finished 5th in the Shot Put with a toss of 14.84m, moving up one spot to #4 All-Time at FSC. He also placed 11th in the Weight Throw with a distance of 15.00m.

In the pole vault, junior Joseph Verderber (Riverhead, N.Y.) posted a 6th place finish, clearing 14' 11", tying his career best. Verderber is currently #3 All-Time at FSC. The event was won by a former FSC athlete and school record holder, Shane Smith, whose record of 15' 5" set in 2005 stood for five years.

Junior Alix Lamarre (North Bellmore, N.Y.) finished in 17th place in the Long Jump at 6.41m (21' 0.5").

For the women, senior Victoria Mandat (West Babylon, N.Y.) ran a 9.49 in the 60m Hurdles Finals for a 12th place finish. Freshman Carina Bonilla (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) moved into #8 All-Time for the 1,000 Meters with a time of 3:30.85.

Farmingdale State will compete at St. Anthony's High School in Huntington, N.Y. this Friday, in the Molloy Long Island Championship.
