Ellis Qualifies for National Championship; Rams Add Three More to ECAC List

Manhattan, N.Y. - Junior captain Qasim Ellis (Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale) placed 5th in the triple jump with a leap of 14.08m (46' 2 1/2") to provisionally qualify for the NCAA Division III National Championship, to be held March 12-13 at DePauw University in Indiana. Ellis also long jumped a season-best 6.76m (22' 2 1/4") to qualify for the ECAC Championships.

Joining Ellis in qualifying for the ECAC's were Deshaun Thomas (Jamaica, N.Y./Thomas Edison) in the 200m (22.75) and Nick Okula (Farmingdale, N.Y./Plainedge) in the 500m (1:08.15). Thomas moves into a tie for #8 on the Farmingdale State College All-Time List.

The men's and women's team now has seven individuals in nine events and two relays qualified for the ECAC Championships on March 5-6 at Smith College in Massachusetts.
