Manhattan, N.Y. - At the 50 team NYC Gotham Cup, juniors Qasim Ellis (Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale) and Jeffrey St. Simon (Farmingdale, N.Y./South Farmingdale) placed first and second respectively in the triple jump with NCAA Division III National Provisional Qualifying marks. Ellis, a team captain, jumped 14.25m (46' 9") to improve on his previous qualifying mark. Ellis currently ranks third on the National List and improved to #2 on the Farmingdale State College All-Time List. St. Simon jumped 14.16m (46' 5 1/2") ranking sixth on the National List and #5 on the FSC All-Time List.

Freshman Ed Brown (Bay Shore, N.Y./Bay Shore) threw the 35 lb. weight 16.39m (53' 9 1/4"), breaking Chris Okolies' school-record by over two feet. Brown's throw also qualified him for the ECAC Championship.

The men's team now has nine individuals in 10 events and one relay team qualified for the ECAC Championship meet.

The next meet is the Wesleyan Invitational at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Conn. on Saturday, January 23rd.
