Men Finish 4th at CTC's; Ellis Wins Triple Jump

Middletown, Conn. - Junior captain Naveed
Mohammed (Central Islip, N.Y./Central Islip) scored in four events
to lead the men's team to a 4th place finish out of 17 scoring
teams at the Collegiate Track Conference Championships. The
Conference has 30 Division I, II and III members.
Naveed placed 4th in the 55m in an ECAC qualifying 6.62 seconds. He also placed 4th in the 200m in 23.21 and 6th in the Long Jump with a leap of 6.28m (20' 7 1/4"). Naveed also ran the anchor leg of the 5th place 4x200m Relay, which posted a time of 1:35.15.
Sophomore Qasim Ellis (Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale) won the Triple Jump with a jump of 14.08m (46' 2 1/2"). This ties his National provisional qualifying mark.
Junior Nicole Zarek (Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale) placed fifth in the Pentathlon with a personal best 1735 points to lead the women's team to a tie for 16th place out of 19 scoring teams.
