Men Finish 2nd, Women Finish 9th at Collegeville Indoor Classic
Collegeville, Pa. - The men's and women's teams placed second and ninth respectively out of 14 NCAA Division II and III teams on Friday, January 18th at the Collegeville Indoor Classic at Ursinus College in Collegeville, Pa. Kutztown State (Pa.), a Division II school, won both competitions narrowingly beating Farmingdale 87 to 80.
The men's team was led by senior captain Reggie Routier and junior Naveed Mohammed. Reggie triple jumped 14.01m (45' 11 3/4"). This is a national provisional qualifying performance. Reggie is the current Farmingdale triple jump record holder at 14.33m (47' 1/4").
The women's team was led by junior Cathryn McLean. McLean won the high jump and ran the anchor leg on the winning 4X200m relay. An exceptional volleyball player in addition to her track accomplishments, Cat was Farmingdale State's 2006-07 Female Athlete of the Year. She is ECAC qualified in the high jump, 1.62m (5' 3 3/4").
