The men's and women's indoor track team excelled at the Wesleyan Invitational on Saturday, January 28th. In solid Division III competition among 27 schools, the team had two 1st place finishes, one 2nd place, three 3rd places, three 4th places and one 5th place. Along with the Rams ten Top-5 finishes, one new school record was established, two runners improved their ECAC qualifying performances and five set personal bests.
Men's High Jump:
Akil Williams 1st Place 6'6" (1.98m), new personal best and improved qualifying time.
Ian Lovergie 4th Place 6'4" (1.93m).
Men's Long Jump:
Reuben Hairston 1st Place 21'8" (6.60m)
Jason Chin-Chitty 3rd Place 20'9 ¼" (6.63m)
Men's Triple Jump:
Patric Santiago 3rd Place 44'2" (13.46m), improved ECAC qualifying time and personal best.
Men's 55m High Hurdles:
Earl Noel 4th place 8.12.
Reggie Routier 5th place 8.23.
Men's 4x400m Relay:
Jason Chin-Chitty, Shane Smith, Kenny Adams, Reuben Hairston 3rd place, 3:31.88.
Women's Pole Vault:
Kara Grech 2nd place 8'6 ¼" (2.60m), new school record
Women's 200m:
Ivory Elder 4th place 27.16, new personal best
Rachael Osbourne 30.91, new personal best
Women's 55m:
Rachael Osbourne 8.46, new personal best
The team now has eight athletes qualified in nine events for the ECAC Champs at Ursinus College in Collegeville, PA on March 3rd and 4th.
