PURCHASE, N.Y. | Senior striker Brandon Balcaceres (Farmingdale, N.Y.) registered his second two-goal outing of the season, while senior winger Michael Lanouette (Hamden, Conn.) added a goal and assist Tuesday night, as the Farmingdale State College men's soccer team ran its winning streak to three matches in Skyline Conference play with a 3-0 triumph at previous conference unbeaten Manhattanville College.

The visiting Rams (5-5-2, 3-2-2 Skyline) opened the scoring 20 minutes in, when Lanouette sent a ball in down the right channel from a tough angle that deflected into the back of the net behind Valiants (7-4-2, 5-1-1) netminder Luis Granados.

After playing sophomore right back Daniel Rivas (Westbury, N.Y.) down the wing on an overlap in the 35th minute, Lanouette received a return ball just inside the penalty area before feeding Balcaceres at the near post, as FSC doubled its lead prior to halftime.

Balcaceres scored on a bar-down shot from six yards away at the final horn, after freshman left winger Tyree Baskin Jr. (Freeport, N.Y.) stole the ball in the final third and sent in a left-side cross for his second assist of the season.

Farmingdale State's defense kept its fifth clean sheet of the season, and second in its last three outings, with senior keeper Justin Silva (Bellerose, N.Y.) making all five of his saves as Manhattanville pressed in an attempt to equalize.

Head coach Chuck Schimpf's Rams are back in action Saturday afternoon (Oct. 15), when they play host to Purchase College in Skyline play. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
