FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | Senior winger Michael Lanouette (Hamden, Conn.) tied his career-high with two goals, while senior keeper Justin Silva (Bellerose, N.Y.) made three saves in directing his back line to a clean sheet Wednesday night, as the Farmingdale State College men's soccer team picked up its second-consecutive win to wrap up non-conference play, taking down visiting Baruch College by a 4-0 margin.

Lanouette netted the breakthrough strike just over 28 minutes in, when he was played in 1v1 on the Bearcats' (1-4) keeper off a midfield diagonal pass by senior striker Brandon Balcaceres (Farmingdale, N.Y.) and slotted home to the right side to put the Rams (2-3) in front.

Balcaceres doubled the lead in the 56th minute of play, picking up his third goal on the week. Silva played a ball from his penalty area to junior midfielder Esnaire Rivera (Levittown, N.Y.) at the center circle, who sent Balcaceres in on a breakaway with his second touch to provide the assists on the tally.

Lanouette completed his brace in the 75th minute off a through ball by freshman winger Tyree Baskin Jr. (Freeport, N.Y.), before Rivera fired home his second goal in as many games with under five minutes to play.

Next up for head coach Chuck Schimpf's squad is the start of Skyline Conference play on Sept. 21, when the Rams will play host to St. Joseph's-Long Island at 4 p.m.
