Alfaro, Lanouette Score Two Goals Each in Rams Win at St. Joe's-LI

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's soccer team cruised to a 4-0 victory in a Skyline Conference game at St. Joseph's-Long Island this afternoon. FSC freshman forward Roberto Alfaro (Huntington Station, N.Y.) and junior defender Michael Lanouette (Hamden, Conn.) scored two goals apiece in the victory.

The Golden Eagles (1-3-1, 0-2-1 Skyline) came out quickly, attempting four shots and three corner kicks, in the first 33:21. FSC sophomore goalkeeper Justin Silva (Bellrose, N.Y.) made two saves and was able to hold SJC-LI off the board.

At 38:54, Farmingdale State (4-3, 2-0 Skyline) senior midfielder Alex Castano (Valley Stream, N.Y.) sent a cross in front for Lanouette, who scored to put the Rams on top, 1-0.

The game remained 1-0 until the 56th minute when Alfaro netted his first goal off the pass from FSC freshman defender Daniel Rivas (Westbury, N.Y.).

Just under three minutes later, Lanouette received a through pass from Alfaro and beat the goalkeeper to put Farmingdale State in front, 3-0.

FSC's final goal came at 66:49 as Castano set up Alfaro for his second goal to go ahead, 4-0.

St. Joseph's-Long Island attempted just one shot on goal over the final 15 minutes as the Rams earned the 4-0 Skyline Conference victory.

Alfaro had two goals and one assist for five points, while Lanouette recorded two goals for four points.

Silva (W, 3-2) stopped five shots on the day and picked up his second shutout of the season.

The Rams next travel to play Skyline Conference opponent Merchant Marine on Tuesday, September 28th at 7:00 p.m.
