Maldonado and Lanouette Score as Rams Shutout Brooklyn

Farmingdale, N.Y. - Freshman forward Erick Maldonado (Brentwood, N.Y.) and junior defender Michael Lanouette (Hamden, Conn.) each scored as the Farmingdale State men's soccer team earned a 2-0 home victory over Brooklyn College this afternoon.

Less than seven minutes into the game, Maldonado netted the cross in front by senior midfielder Carlos Rivera (Huntington, N.Y.) to put the Rams (2-2) out in front, 1-0.

After taking a 1-0 lead, FSC allowed only two Brooklyn (0-4) shots, none of which came after the 14th minute. The Farmingdale State defense held the Bulldogs without a shot on goal in the first half and took the 1-0 advantage into the break.

Lanouette recorded his goal in the 61st minute off a rebounded shot by Rivera to put the Rams on top, 2-0.

Brooklyn was held to zero shots on goal for the game as FSC picked up the 2-0 home win.

The Rams next will host FDU-Florham on Saturday, September 18th at 2:00 p.m.
