FSC Records Fourth Consecutive Shutout with 6-0 Victory Over St. Joe's-Brooklyn

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's soccer team played host to St. Joseph's-Brooklyn today and earned a 6-0 victory. The Rams have now recorded shutout wins in their last four games.

FSC (8-6, 5-1) opened the scoring in the 5th minute after sophomore forward Chris Schmidt (Massapequa, N.Y.) netted the pass from junior forward Carlos Rivera (Huntington, N.Y.). Only 7:12 later, Rivera tallied an unassisted goal to put the Rams out in front, 2-0. Farmingdale State out shot the Bears (4-9-1, 2-4) 9-8 in the first half and took a 2-0 advantage into the break.

Less than eight minutes into the second half, Farmingdale State went on top 3-0 after an Alec Chapoteau (Wantagh, N.Y.) score off the pass by Alex Castano (Valley Stream, N.Y.). The Rams increased the lead to 4-0 in the 60th minute on Rivera's second goal of the afternoon.

FSC added scores by junior defender Anthony Machado (Carle Place, N.Y.) and junior forward Robert Anastasio (Lynbrook, N.Y.) en route to the 6-0 victory.

Freshman goalkeeper Justin Silva (Bellrose, N.Y.) stopped five shots in just over 70 minutes of action for the Rams.

Rivera finished the day with a game-high five points on two goals and one assist.

The Farmingdale State men's soccer team next will host Mount Saint Mary in a Skyline Conference game on Tuesday, October 15th at 5:00 p.m.
