Six Players Score as FSC Blanks Sarah Lawrence

Yonkers, N.Y. - Farmingdale State had six different players score goals in last night's 7-0 Skyline Conference victory over Sarah Lawrence. With the win, the FSC men's soccer team improved to 5-6 overall and 2-1 in conference play.

Junior midfielder Bryan Argueta (Westbury, N.Y.) opened the scoring for Farmingdale State in the 19th minute as he recorded an unassisted goal.

The Rams took a 2-0 advantage with 1:51 remaining in the first half after junior midfielder Alex Castano (Valley Stream, N.Y.) scored in the top right corner of the net off the pass from Michael Gino (Wantagh, N.Y.). Only 14 seconds later, an unassisted goal by junior forward Carlos Rivera (Huntington, N.Y.) gave FSC a 3-0 lead as they headed into the break.

In the second half, the Rams used goals by junior defender Anthony Machado (Carle Place, N.Y.), Argueta, junior forward Kyle Darden (Floral Park, N.Y.) and freshman midfielder Godspower Excel (Central Islip, N.Y.) en route to the 7-0 win.

Farmingdale State out shot the Gryphons (4-5-1, 1-2-1) 31-7 and held a 10-0 corner kick advantage.

The Rams next will travel to St. Joseph's-LI for a Skyline Conference game on Saturday, October 5th at noon.
