- Ford Named Defensive Player of the Week; Pozo Tabbed Libero of the Week -


New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Fall weekly report #3 on Monday, September 16, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer, men's golf, women's tennis and women's volleyball.

Women's Soccer Update (2-1-2, 0-0 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

In their only game last week, FSC played to a 0-0 double overtime tie with The University of Scranton. 

Senior goalkeeper Daniella Ford (Elmont, N.Y.) was named the Skyline Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the second time in three weeks. Ford picked up seven saves in the scoreless draw against Scranton and lowered her season GAA to 0.36. Ford also holds a .946 save percentage on the year (35 svs., 2 GA).

This week FSC will play a pair of non-conference games: Wednesday vs. Western Connecticut @ 5:00 p.m. & Saturday at Geneseo @ 1:00 p.m.

 

Women's Volleyball Update (5-4, 0-0 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

The Rams went 3-1 last week as they defeated non-conference opponents Lehman (3-0), Bard (3-1) and Mitchell (3-2).

Junior Madisyn Pozo (Bayside, N.Y.) was tabbed the Libero of the Week. She recorded a team-high 69 digs (4.6 per set) in the 3-1 week for Farmingdale State. In the tri-match on Saturday, Pozo had 21 digs in the first match versus Bard and followed with a season-best 28 digs in the 3-2 win over Mitchell.

This week the women's volleyball team will travel to William Paterson on Wednesday (7:00 p.m.) before playing SUNY Delhi (11:00 a.m.) and MCLA (1:00 p.m.) in a road tri-match on Sunday.

 

Men's Soccer Update (3-3, 0-0 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

In a trio of games last week, the FSC men's soccer team went 2-1 with wins over both Brooklyn (4-1) and Hunter (6-0).

Sophomore forward Chris Schmidt (Massapequa, N.Y.) earned a spot on the Honor Roll after notching two goals, including the game-winner, at Brooklyn.

Farmingdale State will host two non-conference games this week: Wednesday vs. New Jersey City @ 7:00 p.m. & Saturday vs. New Paltz @ 1:00 p.m. 

 

Women's Tennis Update (4-1, 0-0 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

The Rams earned a pair of wins last week as they defeated Brooklyn (7-2) and Baruch (7-2).

Sophomore Nicole Tzanetos (Merrick, N.Y.) was tabbed to the Player of the Week honor roll after going 2-0 in both doubles and singles.

This week FSC travels to play Skyline opponent Yeshiva on Wednesday (7:00 p.m.) and non-conference opponent Staten Island on Saturday (12:00 p.m.).

 

Cross Country Update - Men's Full Report  - Women's Full Report

The cross country teams had the week off and will travel to Annandale-on-Hudson, N.Y. to compete in the Bard Raptors Invitational on Saturday.

 

Men's Golf Update - Skyline Full Report

After a week off, the men's golf team is set to compete in the FSC Skyline Invitational at Bethpage Red on Friday before hosting the first round of the Skyline Conference Championship on Sunday.
