- Martinez & Chapoteau named Offensive Players of the Week; Green tabbed Runner of the Week & Haynes Earns Rookie of the Week Honors -


New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Fall weekly report #2 on Monday, September 9, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer, men's golf, women's tennis and women's volleyball.

Women's Soccer Update (2-1-1, 0-0 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

In a pair of road games last week, #21 Farmingdale State lost in OT to Trinity (Conn.), 2-1, but followed with a 1-0 win at #6 Misericordia.

Sophomore Julissa Martinez (Brentwood, N.Y.) was tabbed the Skyline Conference Offensive Player of the Week after scoring the game-winning goal to knock off #6 Misericordia on Sunday afternoon. Martinez has two game-winning goals this season and five in her career. Senior goalkeeper Daniella Ford (Elmont, N.Y.) earned a spot on the honor roll as she compiled 21 saves and held a 0.97 GAA.

This week Farmingdale State will host #25 Scranton in their only game of the week on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.

 

Cross Country Update - Men's Full Report  - Women's Full Report

At the season-opening Adelphi Panthers XC Invite held at Bethpage State Park, the women's and men's cross country teams finished in fourth and sixth place, respectively.

Sophomore Joshua Green (Shelter Island, N.Y.) was named the Skyline Conference Runner of the Week. He was the top Division III runner and placed 11th out of 120 competitors at the Adelphi Invite in a time of 27:19.9. For the women, freshman Alycia Haynes (Adams Center, N.Y.) was tabbed the Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week as she placed 17th with a 5k time of 21:10.6 in her first-career race. Haynes was the No. 2 Division III student-athlete to cross the finish line. Senior Erin Lettieri (West Islip, N.Y.) earned a spot on the honor roll after finishing 21st in a time of 21:23.6.

The cross country teams will next travel to Annandale-on-Hudson, N.Y. to compete in the Bard Raptors Invitational on Saturday, September 21st.

 

Men's Soccer Update (2-2, 0-0 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

In their only game of the week, the FSC men's soccer team defeated FDU-Florham, 2-1, in overtime.

Rams' senior midfielder Alec Chapoteau (Wantagh, N.Y.) earned Skyline Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors after scoring the OT game-winner at FDU-Florham.

The FSC men's soccer team will host two non-conference games this week: Wednesday vs. Baruch @ 5:00 p.m. & Saturday vs. Hunter @ noon. 

 

Men's Golf Update - Skyline Full Report

The men's golf team opened the 2019 fall season at the York (Pa.) Spartan Invitational held at Royal Manchester Golf Links last week and placed sixth out of 14 teams.

Senior Brian Crawford (Stormville, N.Y.) finished in a tie for seventh place out of 80 competitors as he earned a place on the Skyline Conference honor roll. He posted rounds of 79 and 72 for a two-day total of 151.

The Rams next return to action on Friday, September 20th when they host the FSC Skyline Invitational at Bethpage Red.

 

Women's Volleyball Update (2-3, 0-0 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

The Rams fell to non-conference opponents Baruch (3-0), Brooklyn (3-1) and Ramapo (3-0) last week.

This week the women's volleyball team will play four matches: Tuesday at Lehman @ 7:00 p.m., Thursday vs. Rutgers-Newark @ 7:00 p.m. and Saturday against both Bard & Mitchell starting at noon. 

 

Women's Tennis Update (2-1, 0-0 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

The women's tennis team went fell to Oneonta, 5-4, in their only match last week.

This week FSC will travel to Alley Pond Tennis Center on Thursday to play non-conference opponent Baruch at 3:30 p.m.
