FSC Drops Non-Conference Game at Hartwick

Oneonta, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's soccer team dropped a non-conference game at Hartwick this afternoon, 2-1. The Hawks scored the first two goals on the game en route to the victory.

With 25:51 left to play in the first half, Hartwick (1-0) junior forward Troy Amegashie (Accra, Ghana) opened the scoring as both Zach Craft (Unadilla, N.Y.) and Joey Bertone (Jamesville, N.Y.) recorded the assists. Less than five minutes later in the 25th minute, freshman midfielder Drew Crawford (Queensbury, N.Y.) secured the rebound and converted off Alex Charest's (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) free kick which hit the cross bar to put the Hawks out in front, 2-0.

Farmingdale State (0-2) sophomore forward Chris Schmidt (Massapequa, N.Y.) cut the deficit in half in the 32nd minute of action after scoring on the pass from senior midfielder Alec Chapoteau (Wantagh, N.Y.). Hartwick took the 2-1 lead into the break despite being outshot 11-6 by the Rams.

In a scoreless second half, Farmingdale State held a slight 4-2 shot advantage but were unable to find the net.

The FSC men's soccer team next will travel to FDU-Florham for a non-conference matchup on Saturday, September 7th at 3:00 p.m.
