Farmingdale, N.Y. - In the First Round of the Skyline Conference Men's Soccer Championship, #5 Farmingdale State fell in penalty kicks to #4 Old Westbury. The game was at Farmingdale State due to unplayable field conditions on the campus of Old Westbury.

After a scoreless 90 minutes of regulation, each team attempted one shot in the first overtime but were unable to find the net. Early in the second OT, Old Westbury (9-5-5) freshman forward Peter Young (Elmont, N.Y.) took a shot and a header both of which went high. With only two seconds left to play in double overtime, senior defender Eric Ragogna (Bethpage, N.Y.) was unsuccessful on his shot attempt as the game headed to a shootout.

FSC's Daniel Mehryari (Levittown, N.Y.) opened the PK's by converting his shot before OW's Edens Avril (Hempstead, N.Y.) answered by netting his attempt. After a pair of Farmingdale State misses and two makes by the Panthers, the Rams were unable to connect on their fourth attempt as Old Westbury claimed the victory and advanced to the Skyline Conference Semifinals.

The Panthers will now travel to top-seeded Mount Saint Mary College on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.

In goal, senior Scott Flores (Commack, N.Y.) had three saves, while senior Mike Warren (East Meadow, N.Y.) stopped one shot.

Farmingdale State was eliminated from the playoffs and finished the year with a 9-7-2 record.
