Rams Shutout Sarah Lawrence in Skyline Matchup

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's soccer team shutout Sarah Lawrence, 2-0, in a Skyline Conference game this afternoon in Farmingdale, N.Y.

With 32:24 left to play in the first half, FSC (8-7, 4-4) broke the scoreless tie on an unassisted goal by senior midfielder Alec Chapoteau (Wantagh, N.Y.). The Rams took the 1-0 advantage into halftime after outshooting Sarah Lawrence (2-13, 2-7) 8-5 in the first.

In the 74th minute of action, Farmingdale State scored their second and the game's final goal as junior midfielder Giovanni Lonetti (Levittown, N.Y.) netted the shot from 20 yards out off the pass by senior defender Kyle Gully (North Babylon, N.Y.). The Rams controlled the second half as they held a 13-1 shot advantage over the Gryphons.

FSC senior goalkeeper Scott Flores (Commack, N.Y.) had four saves in the win, while freshman Matteo Romano (Sarasota, Fla.) stopped seven shots for Sarah Lawrence.

Farmingdale State next hosts conference opponent St. Joseph's-L.I. on Saturday, October 20th at noon on Senior Day. Prior to the game, James Barrett, Alec Chapoteau, Scott Flores, William Grajales, Kyle Gully and Alejandro Juarez will be honored as they are playing in their final regular season home game.
