Rams Shutout Purchase; Earn Third Straight Win

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's soccer team earned their third straight win this evening with a 2-0 Skyline Conference victory over Purchase College in Farmingdale, N.Y. With the win, the Rams are now 6-4 on the year and 2-1 in conference play.

FSC senior defender Kyle Gully (North Babylon, N.Y.) broke the scoreless tie with 8:42 remaining in the first half as he connected on a shot from 10 yards out off Alec Chapoteau's (Wantagh, N.Y.) corner kick. In the first half, the Rams out shot PC (3-3-2, 1-1-1), 6-2, and took the 1-0 advantage into the break.

In the 73rd minute, sophomore midfielder Dominic D'Angelo (East Northport, N.Y.) scored on the through ball by sophomore defender Luis Steven Vasquez (Bay Shore, N.Y.). Over the remainder of the game, FSC held the Panthers to only two shots, neither of which were on goal, to seal the 2-0 Skyline Conference victory.

Senior keeper Scott Flores (Commack, N.Y.) had one save as he recorded the shutout and sophomore Jordan Meade (Olivebridge, N.Y.) stopped six shots for Purchase.

The Rams next host Merchant Marine in a conference game on Saturday, October 6th at noon.
