Old Westbury Blanks FSC in Skyline Opener

Old Westbury, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's soccer team dropped their Skyline Conference opener today, falling to Old Westbury, 2-0. The Rams now hold a 3-4 record overall and 0-1 in conference play, while the Panthers improved to 4-4, 1-0.

After a scoreless first half, Old Westbury opened the scoring in the 61st minute as sophomore forward Edens Avril (Hempstead, N.Y.) scored off the feed from junior midfielder Daniel Reiskin (North Woodmere, N.Y.).

Just 9:29 later, the Panthers went ahead 2-0 as sophomore defender Alex DaSilva (West Hempstead, N.Y.) gathered the loose ball and shot it past FSC senior goalkeeper Scott Flores (Commack, N.Y.).

Old Westbury held Farmingdale State to just two shots on goal the rest of the way, both of which were saved by senior goalkeeper Mike Warren (East Meadow, N.Y.).

The Panthers outshot FSC, 14-4, and held a 7-5 corner kick advantage for the game.

The Rams next travel to Hartwick College for a non-conference game tomorrow, Sunday, September 23rd at 1:00 p.m.
