Farmingdale, N.Y. - In a Skyline Conference men's soccer game this evening, Maritime junior midfielder Parker Gallt (Las Vegas, Nev.) led the way for the Privateers by scoring both goals in the 2-0 victory. Maritime improved to 9-2-1 overall and 3-1 in the conference, while the Rams dropped to 5-4, 2-3.
Gallt tallied his first goal only 7:50 into the contest as he scored in front of the net off the corner kick by senior forward Harry Colucci (Port Jefferson, N.Y.). After being fouled in the box with 17:31 remaining in the half, Gallt converted the penalty kick to put the Privateers in front, 2-0. Despite being out shot 8-4 in the first half, Maritime took the 2-0 advantage into the break.
In a scoreless second half, the Rams attempted 10 shots, two of which were on goal, but were unable to find the net and fell, 2-0.
Senior goalkeeper Daniel Stern (Kings Park, N.Y.) had five saves for FSC, while sophomore goalkeeper Michael Rodriguez (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) stopped six shots in the shutout victory for the Privateers.
Farmingdale State next will host non-conference opponent CCNY on Monday, October 9th at 4:00pm.
