Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's soccer team dropped their conference opener today, falling to Purchase College, 2-0. The Rams now hold a 2-2 record overall, 0-1 in Skyline play, while the Panthers improved to 3-3, 1-0.

After a scoreless first half, Purchase opened the scoring in the 65th minute as senior defender Joel Viveros (Valhalla, N.Y.) sent home a corner kick rebound.

With three minutes left to play, the Panthers added an insurance goal by freshman forward Thomas Browne (Carle Place, N.Y.), assisted by junior midfielder Oliver Dubreus (Cornwall, N.Y.).

Farmingdale State held the advantage in shots, 17-11, but Purchase goalkeeper Jordan Meade (Olivebridge, N.Y.) made 11 saves en route to the shutout.

The Rams next will host Old Westbury on Saturday, September 23rd at noon in their first home game of the season.
