Farmingdale, N.Y. - In the First Round of the Skyline Conference Men's Soccer Championship, Farmingdale State sophomore forward Jovanni Parkinson (Wyandanch, N.Y.) scored the games only goal early in the second half to lead the Rams to a 1-0 victory over St. Joseph's-LI.

After a scoreless first half, Farmingdale State (10-7) broke the 0-0 tie with 33:26 left to play on a tap-in goal from Parkinson off Tobi Ojuade's (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) cross in front.

With 11:17 remaining, St. Joe's-LI had a potential game-tying shot from 15 yards out but a diving stop by FSC defender Gerard Farrell (Floral Park, N.Y.) kept the Rams ahead, 1-0. Less than a minute later, a diving save by sophomore goalkeeper Lucas Mallia (Greenlawn, N.Y.) on a header by the Golden Eagles secured the one-goal FSC advantage.

Mallia stopped six shots, while senior Avery Gomez (Bay Shore, N.Y.) had five saves for the Golden Eagles (7-11).

#4 Farmingdale State will now travel to face top-seed Merchant Marine in the Semifinals on Wednesday, November 2nd at 4:00 p.m. The winner of that game will face the winner of #6 Sage/#2 Mount Saint Mary for the Skyline Championship on Saturday, November 5th.
